Palmer Evolves for Focus Features
Chase Palmer will write, and is also attached to direct, Evolution's Captain for Focus Features. The story is an adaptation of historical biography Evolution's Captain: The Dark Fate of the Man Who Sailed Charles Darwin Around the World by writer Peter Nichols. The book focused on Robert FitzRoy, captain of the HMS Beagle, and his relationship with Darwin over a a course of 30 years. Their debate over the theory of evolution is also a central topic. Cathy Schulman (Crash) will produce the film.
